Best News: Swarm Of Earthquakes Rattles East Bay

LIVERMORE (CBS SF) - There were three earthquakes in five hours in the East Bay Saturday.

According to the United States Geological Survey, all three quakes were 7 to 8 miles southeast of Livermore.

The strongest quake had a magnitude of 2.7. It happened at 10:28 a.m., 5 miles southeast of Livermore and 9 miles east-southeast of Pleasanton, according to the USGS.

The temblor had a depth of roughly 2.7 miles.

The most recent was a 1.8 magnitude quake at 3:20 p.m., 4 miles southeast of Livermore and 9 miles east of Pleasanton. The quake had a depth of roughly 3.5 miles.

A magnitude 2.3 quake occurred at 10:42 a.m. in about the same area as the first quake. It had a depth of about 1.5 miles.

More than three dozen people in the area reported feeling the quakes, according to the USGS website.
